I am a native Houstonian! I graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in music therapy. I have 2 beautiful children that I love and adore and spend many volunteer hours with on a weekly basis. I am very involved in their education and have been since day one. Because of my increased involvement in their education throughout the years, I have always felt drawn to teaching. However, due to different jobs in my life and level of volunteer work as well, the timing never seemed right.In 2012, while reviewing educational programs like Houston Community College's Accredited Teacher Certification Program, I came across information about a scholarship opportunity. I immediately gathered the appropriate materials, submitted my application, and was approved. Due to this amazing opportunity afforded to me, I enrolled in the program and began on June 17, 2012. I have continued working hard throughout the entire course of this program and have learned many amazing things throughout this time.
I am writing this blog as a school requirement, but may decide upon keeping it up after the assignment is submitted. I look forward to blogging this week and seeing how it is received by friends and other classmates in my program.
